The gallery shows both sides of Madeira’s score: the Gulf shoreline itself and the compact John’s Pass district that makes this one of the stronger complete beach-day destinations on the coast.

Where it is

Main scoring anchor: John’s Pass Park, 12774 Gulf Blvd. The beach is directly across Gulf Boulevard from John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk, so visitors can combine the sand, food, shops, marina and excursions without moving the car.

Parking and access

Current city visitor parking rate: $4 per hour. John’s Pass Park has about 100 public spaces, while Madeira Beach also operates additional city lots and beach-access parking. The direct beach location is convenient, but the hourly price and peak demand around John’s Pass keep the parking score from being higher.

Food near Madeira Beach

John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk has more than 100 shops, restaurants and water-related businesses. Seafood, pizza, casual waterfront dining, sweets, bars and live-music venues are all within a practical walk of the beach anchor, which earns Madeira Beach the top food-nearby score.

Activities and watersports

Madeira is one of the coast’s strongest activity beaches because the John’s Pass marina district is part of the same walkable day. Visitors can book deep-sea fishing, dolphin watching, sunset cruises, shelling trips and private charters, plus find jet-ski, boat and other watersport operators around the village.

Before you go

John’s Pass is a popular visitor district, so parking becomes more difficult at peak times even though the city and nearby garage provide substantial capacity. Beach conditions and access can change after storms, so use the current beach-conditions link before a long drive.

D’s Beach Ratings

Overall Beach Rating: 9/10
The underlying weighted calculation is retained internally. Madeira scores especially well because John’s Pass Park combines a solid Gulf beach with unusually strong walkable food, activities and after-beach options; parking cost and peak congestion prevent a higher overall result.
